Some pictures depicting how i've been spending my time in selangor whilst here for an internship! Sorry i haven't been blogging, super busy with work! my average day consists of leaving the condo at 625am and returning 8ish 9ish everyday so i do apologise for the lack of attention towards this blog and also towards MYSELF

i do enjoy the city life though because there is less time to mope (: about the ailments of life (if any)

not enough time to think if there is!

OOTD! mustard, satchel, chunky ring, BIG SMILE :)

that about covers just about half of my time here :)

work experience has been rewarding and i will elaborate more in a separate post although i shall keep it to the bare minimum because of professionalism and client confidentiality.

i also had other amazing meet ups such as a meet up with my lawyer cousin who briefed me a little on what she does and we had delicious paella at changkat!

and the eateries at the workplace are pretty good too, had beef ball noodles, yummy chapati, chicken rice and assorted malaysian delicacies. am craving for a GCB now though is anyone else craving for a GCB? i know there is heated debate over how good it is (most people don't like it) but i just want it right now and i've already fulfilled my spicy chicken mcdeluxe craving!

oh and i also went to this cosy place overlooking a golf course with a really really old friend! i had salmon i love salmon, the place was really classy, somewhere in ampang!

i also met up with my childhood best friend whom i haven't seen for the longest time!!! so that was really some kind of wonderful (:

OH YES AND i also walked right past MALAYSIAN DREAMGIRL cindy tey at the KLCC convention centre. i was so shy though, she's so tall and pretty! so i just walked past her. and then when i went home i went to check her twitter and she was indeed in the KLCC area. :)

fangirl much? hahaha

anyway i've got to go to bed sometime soon-ish lest i wake up zombified tomorrow.

i just wanna say thank you to all my friends for meeting up with me and making kl feel like a second home (: thank you all so much i really appreciate catching up and seeing all your pretty faces.

i feel a deep sense of gratitude for being able to catch up this time for real because there are certain friendships so worth preserving :)

singapore in a couple of days!

Flaming Legs

Hey, i'm in KL at the moment, in the condo.

oh hai iz me

and this is the view from the condo. i love it!!!!! serene and beautiful (:

i start work tomorrow! i guess i'm kinda excited, in a way. i know where my office is and i know how to get there and everything. i figured it out over the weekend.

i'm not working permanently though!!! because i'm not done with law school yet!!! this is just an internship taken on my own initiative. it's always good going for some outside exposure, and it's good to have working experience on your CV if you intend to work elsewhere in the future, not to mention knowing roughly what your job entails.

the condo is pretty, quite spacious which i like, the bed is super duper comfy.

anyway i made a booboo today.

blush.

i fell of the treadmill in front of a cute guy at the gym. EEK.

trust me to get myself into situations like these. yes. that's me, the girl who ALWAYS fell down as a lil girl, when she played tag with her friends. i'd fall and scrape my beautiful casio/bbg watch against the cement. and when i rode a bike along rottnest islands, i fell so many times to the extent it scared me to ride a bike ever again. (i only started revisiting the idea of biking last year, at 21 years old!)

yeah i fell off the treadmill. what happened was, my tiny kids section adidas shoes were starting to hurt my feet so i hopped off the treadmill without pausing it. took my shoes off hopped back on, and didn't realise how fast the treadmill was going, so i scrambled, i grabbed handles, i missed, i tumbled, i fell. crawling, sprawled, like an idiot.

must've made a hell of a thump because the dude with the weights (not to mention with the bulging muscles) scurried to look and was like ARE YOU OK? thankfully he did not laugh. :3 he was dead serious and very nice lah

must be because he doesn't have any smiling muscles since they are all situated at his arms HELLO wtf

anyway i didn't realise i SCRAPED MY KNEE until sometime after. after the fall i hopped back on and ran some more until i realised my right knee was kind of FLAMING lololol.

this really brings me back to my olden clumsy ways, the ones i've tried so hard to ERADICATE. i think the last scraped knee i've had was when i was 12 or something!

so now i have blisters forming from my sneakers which will really KILL my feet tomorrow when i wear heels to work, and i have a scraped knee which will really KILL me while i commute to work.

ah well, i guess i will always be me  :3 FOREVER.

The Meaning Beneath Her Smile

Upon entering the familiar abode, my senses tingled, like they were sparked into becoming, into existing. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, whether it was those green and white tiles my feet rested idly on, or the tacky pink curtains conjoined to red wispy flaps. Perhaps the faint smell of sandalwood wafting about in the distance, or the leaves peeking in through the rusty window panes. It all seemed so beautiful in its littlest form of simplicity, as my thoughts followed my gaze with my eyes squinting between the windows, remembering the memories i had as a little girl feeding the chickens from behind the fence. it was leaves they ate, yes i could've sworn i threw in leaves, because little me would've never touched anything nasty with dubious origins.

"the prosaic side of life, too often neglected", has always been a phrase i repeat in my head sporadically, from time to time, when i paddle through the waves of the world.

it hasn't been so simple, things. these ways and these directions. it has always been particularly difficult on me for reasons unbeknownst to me. i have always known the current of travel, and change. i have always known how to get on a plane to leave, to return, sometimes to go back and forth unknowingly, transporting bodily but not knowing where the soul belongs.

common to me is this imagery of a compass, a pointer. when it points north i'd have to become the embodiment of the north, south east, i'd have to be south east. and leaving and returning has never quite invoked the expected enthusiasm bubbling up one's chest. a rarity, it would have to be labelled, if i may.

Even so, there are moments so magical, returning to this place i term my centre. as i step a foot through that door, i feel its pull carry my entire weight through. i find myself in a daze, in complete moksha. grandma's house, with the pink pillow with the flowers resting softly against the bed i used to bang my knee on, remains to be a comfort and a joy. i don't quite know what it all means, or where else in the world i would feel this. what i do know know is i'd love to travel alone someday to work out a direction on my own, and see if the prosaic life it is i find.

often associated with these ways of life is a mundane slow-moving life, a life with the elderly, perhaps one of poverty, lacking development, lacking commercialisation or technology, and bereft of anything which excites any young 22 year old of the reasonable objective mind. it may be something else completely, it may be something quite to the contrary, i wouldn't know. i haven't figured it out.

it could be so many things, like a dampened memory of a childhood, the familiar teasing of an exboyfriend 7 years in passing, the look in your grandma's eyes, or in the joy emitting from her smile as her cheeks rose away, her tired lips gleefully muttering stories of your late grandpa who has been gone 20 years; how the great loves remain to be one's greatest joy despite a lifetime of argument and disagreement, or even through a life of prosaic monotone.

or even how the rich tycoon who fancied your grandmother but never stood a chance, grew an empire, and a family of heirlooms, but comes to visit her aching body in a hospital bed time after time, through a care and a compassion that never fades away.

what it comes down to in the end, is a place in your mind you've always known was a given- something undesirable worth fighting for; like the fight against a disease even when the life within you is already lost, the fight for ambition even when fiascos imminently line up awaiting, the fight for a human right many deem uncool in a liberal expanding world. the fight.

a disconcerting thought at initial t=0, often kept suspended atop a lid placed airtight above the container of your great and easy wealth and success, for fear of that burden prosaically infusing into your big bowl of perfection, even to the point of contaminating it, may one day become, the greatest most meaningful event of your life.

and that is what i breathe for.
